Bill de Blasio, Mayor of New York, said: "I and all New Yorkers welcome the World Chess Championship back to New York City. What better place to be than the city where parks are often populated by chess enthusiasts."

Agon said tickets to the Championship Match go on sale on August 17. Details of ticket pricing and booking will be made available soon.

FIDE and Agon Limited will provide a live broadcast of the match through its worldchess.com website.
